Probing & tool setting cycle finder
Pick a probing or tool setting job and see which cycle family handles it on Renishaw Inspection Plus, Blum touch probe and laser systems, Heidenhain TNC and Siemens SINUMERIK, with what it needs and where the result goes.
Probing & tool setting cycle finder
Pick the job. See which cycle family handles it on Renishaw, Blum touch probe and laser systems, Heidenhain and Siemens, what it needs, and where the result goes. Then open the right page of the manual instead of hunting for it.
O9814 bore / boss measure with D for the nominal diameter and S for the offset. Four touches, centre and size come back in #135 to #140 style result variables.
Cycle numbers are the Fanuc-style O98xx macros. Haas WIPS uses the same numbers behind its screens. Arguments differ per cycle, see the Inspection Plus programming manual for your control.
3-point contour cycle (O9711) or the bore option of Touch XYZ, with H, U, V setting the probing angles and W the WCS number.
O97xx family on Fanuc-type controls. One main entry program with a task selected by the call, results returned in a block of #variables set by the installer. Addresses are installer-configured, so read the machine's setup sheet.
Cycle 412 DATUM INSIDE CIRCLE for a bore, Cycle 413 DATUM OUTSIDE CIRCLE for a boss.
Built into the control as TCH PROBE cycles. Numbers are consistent across TNC generations, parameters are Q-numbers.
CYCLE977 hole / spigot measurement with the WCS target selected.
CYCLE9xx measuring cycles with ShopMill / ShopTurn front ends. Results land in the _OVR[] and _OVI[] arrays.
This is a map, not the manual. Cycle numbers are the standard ones each vendor publishes. Argument letters, result variable addresses and option bits are set per machine by whoever installed the system, so the exact call on your machine can differ.
Before you trust any of these on a new machine: find the setup sheet, read the results block back with a known part, and run the first cycle in single block with the feed override turned down.
Written from experience installing and programming these systems. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Renishaw, Blum-Novotest, Heidenhain or Siemens.
Cycle numbers and names are from the vendors' published programming manuals. Confirm the argument list in your version of the manual before running a cycle.
